Melo's People of Utah

This commercial got me the first time.

"Every millennia or so a person comes along with the power to unite the world. This year, that person is Carmelo Anthony. His dominant game this season is a testament to the human potential. But while he's gotten himself here, he can't do it alone — or maybe he can — but he'll also have us, Melo's people of Utah. We're proud to support this soon-to-be champion. C.A., the common denominator of our hearts. Supported by the fans of Carmelo Anthony in Utah."

"Supported by the fans of Carmelo Anthony in Utah."

I couldn't believe what I just heard. I had to rewind that last part, DVR was made for these kind of moments, turns out it's a Jordan commercial. Which is kinda refreshing because you don't expect Jordan commercials to have a sense of humor.

You got us good Nike.

Colbie Caillat show

I got tickets to a Colbie Caillat show at Fantasy Springs.
I knew of some of her songs before, but I wasn't a fan like I am now.
I like her singing style. -That laid back Hawaiian feel and she plays the Ukulele.
Highlight: "Turn Your Lights Down Low" rapping Lauryn Hill's verse.
Overall: She sounds the same live as she does on her albums, the band was on point and she was lookin real good.

March Phone Picks

Here are some randoms from my phone

I went to Target just for these.. yeah. Good thing they're seasonal

While I was at Target I looked at some of these. These seem perfect for those "you should've been there moments."

Want to know how to make a puzzle hard? Make it all one color. Want to know how to make it even harder? Make it double sided.

New graphics on the walls of Yojie (yo-gee-aye)

"..Oldies"

"dirty dogs" the only food that we love that have the word "dirty" in it.

Guess what I'm doing wrong. Give up? I should be driving.

D&B's for Alex's Birthday

Joel, Jeremy and me at D&B's at The Block for Alex's birthday
Highlights of the night:
1. 300+ tickets
2. Watching this professional arcade basketball player at work. This guy was all business. He always scored 50+ and almost never missed. And I'm pretty sure he had special outfit.

Upright Citizen's Brigade

Went to UCB Theater for the first time to watch Anthony Jeselnik do a set. I didn't know who else was on that night, turns out it was Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman, Nick Swardson and Kevin Nealon  (the headliner)
He was really funny. He did this improv Mad Lib with the audience. The story started off about health care and ended up about getting raped by doctors. -classy

First impressions:
-Cheap: most shows like this one are only $5
-It's B.Y.O.B.? (bring your own booze for you minors) That beats any other comedy club out there with their 2 drink minimums. I brought in a 6 pack of Red Stripes and spent less than $10, which would've only bought me 1 beer at the Imrov.

Conclusion:
The shows are cheap, you can bring your own alcohol and the comedians are funny. Plus it's a theater not a club, so there's more they can do. They have this one show called "Face book Wednesdays" where they go on random audience member's Face book accounts and dissect them in front of everyone.
Random fact: UCB's alumni include Amy Poehler, Fred Armisen, Aziz Ansari, Paul Scheer and Rob Hubel (Human Giant)

Here's the site: UBC Theater
Hit me up if you're going, I'm always down to go.

MOCA Field Trip

Our photography class had a field trip to the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA to look at the black and white photos in their "First Thiry Years" Colletion.
It's the first time I've been to the MOCA on Grand Ave. I've been to the other MOCA, the Greffen Contemporary, once for the Murakami exhibit.
There are many prints and pieces to talk about, but I'm too lazy to write so instead, here are pictures of the ones I liked.
The website doesn't show an end date, so if you have the opportunity to go, I'd recommend checking it out.
